Voter Eligibility
As soon as you establish residence in Marion County, you are qualified to register to vote in Marion County.

Other requirements for voter registration include minimum age of 18 (you may register 2 months prior to your 18th birthday). You must be a United States citizen.

You may not register to vote if you have been declared mentally incapacitated or if you have been convicted of a felony crime. To regain the right to vote after you complete your sentence or probation.

Voter registration applications are available at our office. They are also available at area post offices, libraries, Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Human Services offices. You may write or call us for an application by mail. You may also request a voter registration application by sending an email to era.johnson@co.marion.tx.us.

Your voter registration is valid as long as you notify us of your current address. If you move within Marion County, please contact our office so we can update your records. Voter registration must be completed at least thirty days prior to an election for your registration to be effective for that election. New voter registration certificates are mailed every two years (in November of odd numbered years). If you move out of Marion County, contact the Voter Registrar of your new county/state of residence.
